And the voyage continues again

After a month in Corinthos I cannot resist it anymore and go back to the adventure. The sun is doing its best so I quickly respond to the travel jitters. At first I travel back to Thessaloniki where I have made an appointment at the well-known Steyr garage for an extensive service. I get an address where the bottom of the cabin is welded and strengthened again. I now hope for once and for all to get rid of the cabin problems, with which I have been struggling for a long time. After that the v...

Bad Luck in Greece

The month of November and the first half of December is largely dominated by an accumulation of bad luck with Piggy. It starts at my location in Thessaloniki, where I discover during the check of the oil level that the transverse support tube of the cabin has been broken off. I already heard some cracking when driving, but could not find out where the cause was. Now I can understand the cause of the cracking. With help from the camperlocation manager, I find the only Steyr garage in Greece. Just...

Zigzagging through the Balkan

Time flies when you're having fun and since my last blog I have travelled more than 4500 kilometres and passed 10 frontiers. While I am writing this, I realise that I have been travelling for about 1.5 years by now. Altogether, Piggy has taken me 40.000 km. over good and bad roads through 26 countries. The average world traveller might take one year to go around the world, but I hope that this enterprise will keep me busy for many years to come. I could, for example, be on a boat between A...

Ukrain, Moldova and Romanian Danube delta

After 6 days of Budapest and an invigorating thermal bath, I travel through the rest of Hungary towards the Ukrainian border. The puszta is a vast plain with grass and woods. Kiskunsag National Park. Here one can find something back from the authentic shepherd's life, but then viewed through a touristic lens. A horse show gives some nice photographic moments and shows what the cowbo...

Into the House of Habsburg

The trip starts with a visit to a tire specialist in the province Limburg, where Piggy gets new shoes. To be precise, Pirelli PS 22 Pista 14x20. Regroovables! Piggy has an expensive taste. These tires should at least be able to bring us to the Far East. On the advice of the garage in Goes, the wheels are also aligned. After an overnight stay in the Eifel we cross the German Autobahn to Weimar. The cit...

The continuation of the trip

After two months in the Netherlands the travel bugs start to itch again. The trip to Asia starts on April 18. The last two months passed like the wind. During this period Piggy is significantly overhauled and is now ready for the big trip. Without the great help from all sides this period would have been much longer. I was able to meet family and friends again. It was a great time. Thank you dear people for all the hospitality I received during my stay with you. The website is polish...

Back to the Netherlands

As I don’t want to cover the stretch to the French Alps in a record time, I leave the Quinta das Gralhas on January 20 after a 10 day stay. My radiator still contains non-anti-frost coolant which is used after the repair of the radiator in Morocco. From now on I'm really going to meet the cold and that means a visit to a dealer to replace the liquid with an anti-frost species. In Guarda I am happy that one can do the job right after lunch. The four of them have been busy doing this for almost...
